Within my DPS body copy it is apparent that it follows a parent to child mode of address, this is because it is perceived that this article has the intention to provide guidance and advice to the audience. The body copy of this article aims to provide a non bias opinion/ review of some of the latests biking tech and gear. This reflects the parent to child voice as within the pieces it conveys both the strengths and weaknesses of each individual product. Furthermore, the informalities within the piece further emphasise this whilst also appealing to the target reader. This mode of address is justified as it synonymous throughout the genre, more specifically its is seen to be relevant to community within the action/ adrenaline sports as they are shown to often be relaxed and chilled with little time for formalities and frequent use of colloquial language and jargon relating to the bike scene.
From the informal aspects and structure of the article it is evident that the article also makes use of restricted coding. The use of restricted coding combined with MTB related jargon allows for the information to be easily interpreted and have a greater appeal to the niche audience. In addition to this the use of paragraphing/ structuring is also key as it allows for the body copy to presented in a clear and organised manner with the defined sections being beneficial to the overall aesthetics also. It could also be perceived that the smaller more defined sections would have a greater appeal to reader, as presented in the imaginary entity and target profile it states that the average reader leads a busy life who uses the magazine as and when they can. Therefore, the use of short paragraphs linked to larger supporting images would have a greater appeal as the reader can quickly and easily digest all the information presented.

Front Cover:
The magazine i produced follows the codes and conventions of this genre for several reasons. Most noticeably, both articles share the same conventions of bold and bright colours, this was used to make the magazine and main sell lines stand out the the reader. The bold text and large masthead are also common throughout my magazine and many of the same genre. Other aspects which share similar traits are the use of a singular rider in the foreground, both shots also share a similar composition and effect with the rider being frozen mid air. Unlike the magazine featured on the right my magazine also features other aspects such the graphic in the corner relating to the pullout map and also the social media information, however this is not uncommon to this genre as it often features on competitor magazines such as MBUK.
Contents Page:
Both magazines share similar codes and conventions. Most noticeably, it is seen throughout this genre that the contents page of includes a large number of images relating to the pages within the magazine. Unlike the magazine example to the left the main background image fills the entirety of the page, this was effective as it clearly further defines the genre whilst also being aesthetically pleasing. The contents both share the use of banners to highlight specific aspects the page and ultimately draw the readers eye to the part. Both contents also share the clearly defined page numbers with a page title and brief description, In addition to this both contents also have clearly defined title with issue number, date and social links. As a whole the contents page fits the codes and conventions of the sporting genre of magazine despite the less common use of a single background image.
DPS:
The double page spread of my magazine is seen to fit the codes and conventions of the style of magazine. This is largely as a result of it following the basic conventions of any magazine. The spread features a main prominent masthead with a clearly defined sub heading which allows for the piece to be easily interpreted. More specifically, this magazine is seen to fit the genre as it features a large amount of imagery to support the body copy. The photography itself also shares similarities with the genre as it features several action shots which are synonymous with the genre in addition to the product photography sharing similar photographic techniques such as the shallow depth of field and vibrant colours.
